Bankers enthused to advance careers

Close to 40 students received their Associate Diploma in Banking certificates at a graduation ceremony organised by the Botswana Institute of Bankers (BIOB).
BIOB executive director, Lydia Andries expressed appreciation at the graduates choosing to advance their careers in banking and finance through the institute.
“Through BIOB you have had the means to earn your qualifications, but through your support, BIOB has had the means to continue to offer these qualifications and enhance the value of the students’ learning experience in higher education,” she said.
Andries also noted that the qualifications that the graduates have acquired will enable them to open doors to better opportunities in future.
Two best graduates, Bose Keeditswe and Tlhomamiso Madeswi, scooped the National Development Bank (NDB) Student of the Year Award.
In a joint speech, the duo encouraged their colleagues to continuously dedicate their time and finances to learning, saying it is only through this that they remain relevant and competitive in their career paths.
“Learning continues to prove to be a guaranteed investment in our future,” Keeditswe said.
She indicated that the qualifications will assist them to be able to continuously meet and surpass customer expectations. She said it will also provide the knowledge to meet the demands of today’s jobs in the era of such challenges as fraud and tough economic conditions.
“This is a course we would encourage everyone, especially in the banking and finance industry, to undertake and complete. It is completely worth it,” Keeditswe enthused.
