According to one of the event organisers, Letsile Kesenyang of Letstaiment, the festivity will be a catalyst to the New Year.
He said that the festivity is dubbed Military Swagg Picnic due to the current trending military clothes, stating that it gives the fashion enthusiasts chance to rock their military clothes and all other accessories except the dangerous military hardware such as guns.
“This will be a day to remember military clothing which will be the order of the day. It will also prelude the New Year vibe since it will start on the 30th ending just a day before the New Year that is on December 31,” he said.
He said that the line up although not yet final will be 100% local and will include the award winning musician Chef Gustos, DJ Boza, DJ Klo of RB2, Skeetman Genaro among others.
Kesenyang stated that the day would kick start with a family fun day where there will be food, jumping castle for children and other fun games.
“Around five o’clock in the evening we will be releasing children with the music festival continuing throughout the night. This festival will be the first of its kind in the Central District. It is our way of telling people that entertainment is not only found in cities and towns particularly Gaborone, we want to show them that we also got swagg in the village,” he said.
He noted that although they have not yet dispatched the tickets people are demanding them at a high rate, a clear indication that it would attract multitudes, not only those in Central District but all over the country.
He said that the tickets would be sold on their different stalls here, Serowe, Gaborone and other places. Kesenyang also promised tight security to take care of any nuisance at the festival therefore people should relax, come and start 2017 in style.
