As the eventful first half began, Gunners had an upper hand against the visitors in terms of ball retention and pressure towards goal. Emmanuel Machinya’s pressure on the right wing alongside Kenanao Kgetholetsile’s effort in the centre created enormous chances for Peleng side to find an opener. Within the 13th minute, Thatoyaone Kgamanyane missed goal by inch after successfully dealing away with Mapantsola’s backline.
Machinya sealed a lead for the Peleng giants during the 14th minute. However, the goal was called for an offside. Magoleng’s shot stopper, Michael James had a busy day, however, he was sure footed between his home side’s post consistently whilst Goabaone Mogorosi denied Mapantsola numerous attempts often. In the 25th minute, Gogontle Marumo was cautioned for a malicious tackle, however, Maikano Maikano failed to seal a lead for Magoleng. Six minutes later, Thusego Lentswenyane sent an in swinger sending Kelame Tladinyane far than he could reach.
Gogontle Marumo made a way for Otlaantshekela Mooketsi in the 41st minute before Kenanao Kgetholetsile found an equaliser in the 45th minute, converting Machinya’s attack from the wing.
Both teams went into the last half aggressively searching for a winning goal. However, defenders on each side constantly insured no goal was registered.
Thusego Lentswenyane made a way for Emanuel Kegosele as the visitors looked to boost their squad. Nare called Bonno Mosea for Mandla Mgadla in the 71st minute.
Magoleng almost secured their second goal through an own goal as Gunners defence made a miscommunication mistake at the back. Kgololo Kgogobi made a way for Thabo Metlhayotlhe during the 79th minute.
Lynoth Chikuwa made way for Tsaone Mosarwa in the 87th minute before Magoleng’s shots topper, James was cautioned for time delay. The teams continued in pursuit of a winning goal, however they were both unsuccessful.
Extension Gunners head coach Daniel Nare said he was satisfied with the results.
“My boys played very well. I am still developing Gunners and I am satisfied with the results. We were a better during the first half, we created chances but failed to convert. Overall, I can’t complain (as) the boys played fairly well,” Nare said.
His counter part, Rapelang Tsatsilebe said his team played well and was also satisfied with the result.
“My team played very well, looking at the fact that we just came from the festive break and that we were playing away from home. We cannot point fingers at anyone, we are satisfied with the result,’’ Tsatsilebe said.
