The creative workshop will be held at Little Theatre (National Museum) September 6 while the main event will be held September 7 at Mantlwaneng theatre, from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.
Speaking today at a press conference, Tau, who has overcome bipolar disorder, said the event is a testimony of her journey and further reflected on how art has healed her.
She said the poetry event promises to bring forth healing through poetry and song. “For the past years I have lived art, and every challenge pushed me to keep pushing. After overcoming bipolar disorder there was a call to inspire people and I have seen the impact this art has had on Batswana.
This event is a creative blend of social development, mental health advocacy and personal development,” she said. Workshop facilitator, Samantha Claire Ncube said that artists should take their appearances very seriously so that people will respect them.
She also talked about how artists should conduct themselves and shine, not only in Botswana but also abroad to reach the rest of the world.
“Tau’s testimony is for the world to hear how God healed her and she should thank Him.” Tau also said Batswana should come together and fight the situation and also talked about how love can change everything.
“For that to happen, it is only God who can do it. The Bible says love covers multitudes of sin and where there is love, nothing can go wrong. Continue the good things that you do and do them in love to help your community,” she said.
