Rappers to battle it out at The Warzone

The Warzone is a league rap battle whereby rappers battle each other through their respective rapping expertise, which is mainly freestyle.
The Warzone Mano A Mano 3 is the second stage within the battle where experienced and inexperienced rappers go head to head. The first stage of The Warzone, a Bootcamp, took place last month. L-The Street Poet has been the champion of The Warzone since 2014.
“This is an opportunity for mid level rappers to prove their best abilities and qualify for the finals scheduled for April,” Selby Muir The Warzone project manager said.
The battle between Kgox-The Rabid and Osama Bin Chaplin will be an interesting one that can take one of the two to the finals if they impress the judges. Both are currently undefeated after having participated in two battles each.
Another interesting battle to watch will be between Quaint and ILL Law, “Quaint made a return to this battle rap format after three years when he took on M.O.I in November 2016. It’s now his 2nd battle and he goes against one of the busiest rappers in 2016, ILL Law. ILL law is still recovering from a devastating defeat to Blain in July last year,” Muir said.
Having battled only once Quaint’s statistics have already made him to be ranked a general while ILL Law is still at a level of major.
In the battle both rappers are given a certain period of time to go at each other and graded on how they present their rhymes, words, play crowd engagement to mention just a few. Most of their lyrical content carries humor, satire, comedy and a bit of vulgar.
Apollo D, Samba T, Melo, Konkrete, Obado had been the judges in the previous contests, with the ones for the upcoming battle yet to be announced.
The Warzone champion and L-The Street Poet and second placed Blain last year represented the country at an international rap battle platform Scrambles 4 Money in South Africa where they did exceptionally well. The rap league has been ongoing for the past four years. The other rap battles scheduled for the Saturday show are as follows; Holocaust versus Ill Minded, Poseidon versus Last Poet.MC Jono versus Eto. The Warzone is expected to start at 2pm till 6pm.
