BOPEU Court Case on August 9

The case is before Justice Godfrey Nthomiwa. Meanwhile on Friday the attorneys from both sides were hackling over a critical legal issue as Mudzimo wanted to bring a fresh application for his clients.
But BOPEU lawyers were unhappy with the stance as they felt the other party should just withdraw their High Court case and file a new matter.
Self styled acting President of BOPEU, Philemon Zibane wants the Court to recognise him and his committee as the legitimate National Office Bearers after his people voted to outst the National Office Bearers(NOB) at a chaotic meeting held at Cresta on July 28.
Meanwhile on Friday President Masego Mogwera and her NOB held their first NEC meeting since the chaos. The NEC meeting held at Blue tree, Maruapula, however could not form a quorum, the Monitor has learnt. Sources close to the news say according to the BOPEU constitution President Mogwera is empowered to hold another NEC meeting within seven days, even without forming a quorum.
Mogwera and her NOB on Saturday participated at the Central region’s conference in Palapye, as the various regions of BOPEU hold their conferences in preparations for the elective congress due December this year.
