He departed the northern city to continue on with his Tlatsa Lebala walk, which he began 16 days ago.  So far  he has walked all the way from Maun and he is south-bound in an effort to fulfil his quest to reach Gaborone.

“The date has been set for May 6 and all tickets are already up for sale at different Web Tickets outlets around the country.  We chose this date because of the availability of the stadium.  We are also avoiding winter and this will be before school exams for high school students,” Kast said.

This comes after the first instalment of Tlatsa Lebala last year was cancelled due to weather complications, which allegedly lead to the rain damaging sound equipment erected for the event that people already bought tickets for.

Some people have since returned the tickets and some are still holding on to them. “People who had previously bought tickets can still use them when we host Tlatsa Lebala,” Kast said in a previous interview.

The tickets are going for P100 each.

Despite having announced the date for the event the No Chill rapper noted that the performance lineup has not yet been drafted, but his team is working on it. The lineup will have an all-local act. Many people showed dissatisfaction with the lineup that had been put together for last year’s attempt at hosting the event before it was cancelled.

According to Google’s distance measurements on the A3, which Kast used from Maun to Francistown, he has covered approximately 489 kilometres in two weeks, an equivalent of five hours, 24 minutes’ drive.

Having started the walk 15 days ago the rapper seems to be getting used to long walks.  Upon his arrival in Francistown last weekend he was welcomed by different people including artists.

Having spent the whole of Monday taking a rest in Francistown where he had a live stream video interacting with people on Facebook, he continued with walking on Tuesday afternoon.

Different individuals, entities and organisations have endorsed the Tlatsa Lebala Walk by sponsoring cash, goods and services.

Kast is on a quest to raise P1.8 million to make the event a success.

The latest  public figure to endorse the Tlatsa Lebala Walk is Gaborone city mayor, Kagiso Thutlwe. Thutlwe posted on his Facebook account saying: “As a show of support for local music and citizen empowerment, I will join Kast of the #TlatsaLebala fame on his arrival into Gaborone City. My office is also running helter-skelter with the business community to prepare a proper arrival for a proponent of this magnitude, surely information will be shared in the next coming days.

I therefore implore our political and civic leaders to support a cause meant to empower locals and raise awareness about local music. #TlatsaLebala #Tlax (sic)”.
