Miscellaneous Apply Brakes On Rollers� Charge

Rollers title chances received a blow after a 1- 1 draw against Miscellaneous

The draw saw Jwaneng Galaxy draw level on 46 points after the mining town side beat Security Systems 1-0. Galaxy are second due to Rollers’ superior goal difference.

In Serowe, Rollers made the first attack in the fifth minute but Pape Ndaw could not finish.

In th 13th minute, Tse Nala goalkeeper, Kealeboga Bophelo made a very good save to deny Lemponye Tshireletso.

Kabelo Dambe was called into action in the 16th minute as he dealt with Simon Mashadza’s cross, the ball hitting the post and bouncing back into play. The teams went into the break deadlocked at 0-0.

But Rollers were ahead a minute after the break when Terrence Mandaza finished Joel Mogorosi’ pass. In the 55th minute, Rollers withdrew Ndaw for Segolame Boy in search of another goal.

But it was Miscellaneous who found the equaliser through Fortunate Thulare’s header in the 62nd minute after his side’s quick attack.

There were chances at both ends with Mosha Gaolaolwe making a timely intervention in the 70th minute while Boy’s shot hit the post in the 80th minute.

Miscellaneous coach, Russia Chaba applauded his boys for the point, dedicating the win to the late, Malebogo Motsokono who was the club treasurer. 

“Rollers is a very good team and a draw against a team of their calibre is a very good achievement. In a bid to improve our results, we trained twice a day for the rest of last week. We dedicate the match to our mother, Mrs Motsokono and may her soul rest in peace,” he said.

Rollers coach, Teenage Mpote, a former Miscellaneous mentor, said his team created chances but failed to convert them.

“We controlled the game for almost 99% and we created so many chances but failed to utilise them. Luck was not on our side. We managed to score first and failed to defend a goal against us,” said Mpote.
