Conference Tuesdays to add impetus in showbiz

Introduced last week, Conference Tuesdays is a weekly platform held at Chez Nicolas where showbiz entrepreneurs meet, network and share ideas.
“This is an ideas exchange forum based on experiences by peers that are doing well in the showbiz industry. Every week there is a topic or theme that we focus,” Aotlhe ‘Trauma’ Boiteto, the host said of the conference, which is the brainchild of Loapi Events.
He noted that the objectives for Conference Tuesdays are for interested individuals to learn from various experts’ works and experiences hence bringing in locals to facilitate since they are aware of the industry dynamics. Last week the conference’s theme was ‘Targeted Marketing, Promotion and Advertising’.
Drew Chadhall and DJ Izzy were the facilitators. The two have experience in the theme that was up for discussion last week. The theme for this evening is ‘Personal Rebranding’, it will be facilitated by Thobo Kerekang.
“We came up with this platform after observations and noticed that there is a gap in local showbiz whereby people just want to make money without researching on the various aspects and prerequisites. People have ignored the basic principles of business and get frustrated when they do not get income.
” Having introduced Conference Tuesdays Trauma noted that he hopes it will add impetus in the local showbiz industry. Talking of the various topics and themes within the showbiz industry that the conference will touch on, he mentioned the likes of events management, hospitality, digital advertising and sound engineering to mention just a few. Also invited at every session is a local guest brand owner who exhibits and talks about their products and services.
Touch Motswak Tswak was the guest brand owner who exhibited his Fresh 2 Tswak merchandise last week. “The attendance on the fist conference was not that big, but we just want to maintain the numbers and keep them small. We have a contact base of the people that attend so we keep them updated on the conference.” Conference Tuesdays is a non-profit structure as attendance is admission free for interested individuals.
