Boatle to host chesa nyama session

The event, which has a strictly Motswako line up, has an endless number of events such as games, musical performances, braii and a picnic set up. Local acts on the line up are Scar, Big L Wasekai, Touch Motswak Tswak, DJ Izzy, Chrome and Eskimos to mention but a few.

“This is basically an event where we put together a social picnic, braii festival, family fun day and a music festival into one. It is inspired by the Chesa Nyama lifestyle but we had to Tswanalize it since it has a big motswako line up,” said Trauma, Loapi Events director who organised the event.

He noted that as the promoters of the event they picked up a strong motswako line up because they felt the genre is in big demand. He said they could not host the event in the past months because it was not the right genre for their clientele that they host every week at Chez Nicolas.

“If you notice the line is dominated by artists from Ramotswa and surrounding areas because we felt we should also promote them since we are hosting the event in their area unlike inviting artists from other regions while there are also some in the same area.” Trauma also noted that they gave a promotion to traders from the same area to have stalls at the event as a way of empowering them.

With the braaiing of meat being almost the major highlight of activities taking place, there will be various packages of the meat, which ranges from beef, chicken and pork, which will be served with extras such as rolls, pap, corn and chakalaka.

There will also be many social activities taking place and as the sun goes down it will be more of a musical festival with artists performing live on stage.
