Speaking at Security Systems’ kit and new players unveiling at the club’s offices in Tlokweng yesterday, Gaborone said he was also worried that Tlokweng alone has many teams which are competing against each.

He added that the display on the field is way below par. He said it would have been much more convenient for Tlokweng to have one or two strong teams that can compete at the highest level. “However, Security Systems have done really well in their first season in the Premier League,” Gaborone said.

He also challenged the Botswana Premier League (BPL) to ensure that the league season starts on time. “It is not good for the players, sponsors and the supporters that the league has not yet started,” he said. Gaborone said this time the league should have been on week four. He urged Systems to continue their preparations for the start of the season despite the delays.

Acting BPL chief executive officer, Thabo Ntshinogang said they will soon announce the date for the start of the league. He said Systems have been doing well in the league including their efforts in Club Licensing. He also encouraged them to continue engaging the Tlokweng community so that they can take the club further up.

Club president, Gabriel Nkgetse emphasised the importance of developing players at a young age. He said the club cannot afford to spend money every season buying players when it could have been easier to develop their own. Systems have signed five players in the just ended transfer window. They have managed to capture former Black Forest goal poacher, Lynoth Chikuhwa.

They have also bolstered their attack with two other strikers, Malvin Tinashe Chipunza from Green Lovers as well as Phenyo Molefe from Police XI. Other new signings are Karabo Gaolebale from Nico United and Godiraone Modingwane from Morupule Wanderers who were paraded yesterday at the launch together with new kits for the coming season.
