The deal will see ATI being the telecommunications company’s brand ambassador and the face of the company’s summer campaign. While BTC has refused to disclose the amount of the deal, The Monitor has in good authority that the rapper will pocket P6,000 a month for the next 12 months.
“We are pleased to be welcoming ATI to the BTC family. Our partnership symbolises our commitment as an organisation to developing and supporting the arts in Botswana. ATI’s widespread appeal is key to the relationship,” BTC general manager marketing, Pilot Yane said. ATI will be advertising and marketing the different services and products offered by BTC including the new package dubbed Batho Bame named after ATI’s tag line.
“Well I am more than honoured, if it’s not a privilege working with BTC because I believe in all lessons it’s very important to vouch for what you want in life. I guess it goes to go along. It’s a happy day, I am happy,” an excited ATI said.
However, BTC officials have declined to state the amount behind the deal they signed with the rapper saying it is confidential. This did not go down well with those in attendance, stating that the telecommunications company should have been transparent as a way of showing respect to their brand ambassador. ATI is one of the few rappers in the country who have endorsements with a high profile companies. He joins the likes of Scar who is one of the first rappers to sign a deal with Orange.
A number of rappers in South Africa have instantly become millionaires as a result of endorsements they signed with established brands.
