Creatives amongst them Donovan Goliath, Mmabatho Motsamai, The Napsta, Kenny Mumba, Brilliant Kodie and Calistus Chijoro facilitated a series of discussions that ranged from digital marketing, film, brand packaging and digital media influence.

South African comedian-cum-entrepreneur, The Napsta, spoke of how one can be creative through executing and applying their ideas. He said it all starts from creating from the heart following one’s faith and using whatever resource they have despite having financial challenges to execute the idea.

He spoke of how he started his media company without enough filming equipment and it forced him to borrow equipment and expertise until they were an established entity.

Another South African, comic Goliath urged the audience to go for what they want to do despite not having academic knowledge within the respective fields especially within the creative sector.

He shared that he became a painting artist and a comedian out of passion than anything else.

Stanbic Bank head of customer channels, Calistas Chijoro spoke mainly on taking advantage of the digital media era stating that if one has internet access, gadgets such as smart phones or computers they are capable of establishing a digital oriented business.

Chijoro noted that the digital era made it much easier to tap into the international market since the internet does not have boundaries. He also urged creatives to collaborate especially by merging different skills to come up with one solid element.

A panel discussion facilitated by blogger Mmabatho Motsamai had digital media influencers like Uyapo Ketogetswe, Tumie Nthutang, Thapelo Letsebe and Brilliant Kodie. The digital media influencers shared their experience on how they have managed to work with local and international brands and marketing their brands online.

They shared tips and techniques of how one can be a digital media influencer starting from handling social media accounts, digital media knowledge and approaching clients.

The Ideas Expo also hosted painting artists, craft makers and fashion designers who exhibited their craft outside the conference room.
