During the event, people will taste wine, dine, view artworks and experience the picnic set up. The picnic-oriented event is a brainchild of Fyne Production and J Grey Botswana.
“This is a high end. This is why we fused art, wine and lifestyle components to bring out one solid lifestyle in a picnic event. It’s for a specific target market and you will notice that wine consumers enjoy and appreciate art a lot,” said Vince Mosimanewakgang, the coordinator of the event.
During the event there will be some wine tasting of different brands such as Alvis Drift, Thembu, Phumla, Royal Reserve and Vusani collections. “There will be five wine tasting stations. Immediately when one enters the venue, wine will be on sale. People should bring camp chairs and blankets so that they sit down and enjoy the wine. Artwork by different artists will also be exhibited during the event.” Wine tasting is open to everyone that will be at the event.
Mosimanewakgang stated that they used this platform as a way of helping artists market their craft stating that art is a rare commodity, but since this is an event for people that appreciate art it will be a good platform to sell art. With it being a family event there will be a surprise jazz ensemble that will be staging a musical performance.
“Due to the heat we will erect a huge marquee just by the centre of Thapong so that there can be a proper shade for people. We are also looking forward to have this event take place every year.” Apart from art and wine stall there will be a number of stalls that will be selling and exhibiting different products that range from food, drinks and crafts.
