In an earlier interview with Showbiz, Boleseng said the death of the gifted trumpeter was a great loss to the music industry, adding that it is going to be difficult to replace him. Mmusi was part of Boleseng's band. The 29-year-old Mmusi was born in Kanye.
He attended his primary and secondary school in his home village.
He joined the Ramatea Brass Band where he learnt how to play the trumpet. He joined the Botswana Defence Force (BDF) in 1999 and was deployed to the band wing after completing his course.
The BDF sent him for further training in South Africa where he acquired a South African National Defence Force (SADF) music proficiency certificate in 2002.
