The politician who represents Gaphatshwa ward in Kweneng South East constituency appeared with Peter Moagi.
They are alleged to have received P137,000 on separate occasions, from two individuals using false pretences.
They are said to have obtained P65,000 last December from one Thelma O'Reilly in exchange for plot number 760 in Mogoditshane, though they were not the owners of the land and had no authority to sell it. In March this year, the two allegedly obtained P72,000 from one Tshwano Modimoosi to sell her plot number 763 in Mogoditshane.
However, the suspects had no authority to sell the land. The case against Mokgajwane and Moagi could not proceed after the court learned that the docket has been sent to the police for further investigations.
The case has been postponed to January 24. Makgalajwe is not new to brushes with the law. In 2008 immediately after winning BDP primary elections, he was charged with trading in illegal substances after he was allegedly caught with over 5,000kg of dagga. The discovery came after police raided his house in Gaborone.
