Sweswe hails Nato's Wits move

Nato had a trial at SuperSport and is said to have impressed the former champions, but later resurfaced at Wits to pen a new deal.

Sweswe, who also joined Wits from Kaizer Chiefs last month, believes the 22-year-old stands to grow more than he would have at the Pretoria side.

'I know most players would rush for the big team but sometimes, especially when young, you prioritise your development as a footballer. Who knows, maybe a move to SuperSport would have been meant he does not get enough game time,' Sweswe told Mmegi Sport.  SSU has six central midfielders including Mogogi Gabonamong, George Maluleka and Edwin Gyimah and indications are that the former champions' intention was to sign the Botswana star and loan him.

Sweswe believes the presence of experienced international stars like Tinashe Nengomasha, formerly with Kaizer Chiefs and ex-Bafana Bafana captain, Aaron Mokoena at the club will work to Nato's advantage.

'Nato has so much potential, I'm told he started playing for the national team at a very young age and that speaks volumes of the quality of player he is.

'Wits are no longer the small club people have always thought it to be - so it's good for Nato because he has experienced players around him like Mokoena (Aaron) and Nengomasha (Tinashe),' added the Warriors defender.

Nato made his Zebras' debut in June 2009 when Botswana hosted New Zealand prior to the Confederations Cup in South Africa. The former Gaborone United star attracted the interest of several South African clubs when he scored against Bafana Bafana in a World Cup 2014 qualifier early in June.

Meanwhile, Joel Mogorosi made his debut for Bloemfontein Celtic during Tuesday's pre-season practice match against Moroka Swallows. Mogorosi penned a three-year deal with Siwelele a few days after Diphetogo Selolwane signed at Pretoria University.

Mogorosi was at Celtic with his Mochudi Centre Chiefs teammate, Arnold Chaka and BMC winger Mandla Sibanda. The Zimbabwe national team duo returned on Saturday to feature for the Warriors in the tri-nations tournament hosted at Molepolole Stadium early this week.

It remains unclear whether Chaka will sign or not while Sibanda did not pass his trial.
