Rollers snatch coke victory

LOBATSE: Township Rollers snatched a 1-0 Coca- Cola victory away to BMC in Lobatse in a match that failed to create much excitement. Captain, Edwin Olerile scored from the penalty spot after Takudzwa Ndorono had brought down sensational Rollers forward Tsotso Ngele inside the box in the 27th minute. Both teams lacked creativity though the visitors appeared to have better ideas of unlocking their opponents' defence.Despite failing to produce the much anticipated entertainment characteristic of  knockout football, Rollers  still could have buried their opponents under an avalanche of goals.

They looked dangerous with their counter attack football, but forwards Ntsesang Simanyana and Sekhana 'Nandos' Koko fluffed four clear cut chances between themselves when BMC defence was caught at sexes and sevens.Although he was left exposed by poor defending on several occasions, BMC goal minder Ndoro, shone brightly, reducing the damage to a mere 1-0 defeat. Ngele pounced in the third minute after escaping attention from Omphemetse Molapo, but shot wide.

A few minutes later his long range free kick was on target, but found Ndoro alert to the danger. Midway through the half, Amos Godirwang saw his effort cleared off the line by Tshepo Maikano after another defensive lapse exposed Ndoro at the back. With Rollers on the driving seat at half time,  BMC returned with a little promise of a better performance.

The introduction of Kago Segokgo for BMC seemed to work magic as he effectively terrorised the opponents. With Oscar Ngenga stuck to Kenanao Kgetholetsile and Agisanyang Ramaabya determined to frustrate young Kobe Kooagile, BMC lacked options in attack especially that Motsholetsi Sikele simply lacked spark on the day.
