Mafikizolo set to rock Botswana

Fortunately, the remaining two members, Nhlanhla Nciza and Theo Kgosinkwe did not let this tragedy destroy their music career and they pressed on in their musical journey. Seven years on, they have both carved successful solo careers and this year, they decided to reunite. They have returned as a duo with the smash hit, Khona produced by Uhuru.  The last time Mafikizolo was here was eight years ago and the producers of Monate Fela entertainment saw it fit to bring them here to perform on May 3.  Speaking to Showbiz yesterday, the organiser of the event Bannye Sesopo otherwise known as Easy B said this is the show to look out for.   'Mafikizolo are back in Gaborone to mesmerise their fans after an  eight-year absence. Even their full album, Reunited, has club bangers that many will love,' he said.  He said that they decided to bring them back because the duo knows how to put on a good performance.  Easy B said there will be a full two hours of entertainment.

'Mafikizolo will perform on stage the old renditions Emlanjeni, Ndi Hamba Nawe, Lotto, Nxishelani, which are Batswana's favourite songs. Over and above the new productions, the group also will be bringing in new choreography and fashion style they are known for,' he explained. Recently, the duo's image has changed to incorporate new elements like African accessories, bright colors and patterns to complement their stage look; Easy B says Batswana will notice these new changes.

The event will also feature DJ Mr O, Scar, DJ Khenzo, Ricky Lamar, DJ Kells, DJ Sly, NT Base, Jam-n-I, T-Izzy and DJ Stomps.  Dolla Mac will be the host for the night.  Advance tickets will be sold for  P150 while revellers will have to part with P200 at the gate.
