BONA games continue in F/town

The Botswana Netball Association (BONA) northern regional league spokesperson Mercy Kololo told Mmegi Sport that 'it's all systems go' for the games. The matches that were called off late last week were to be played over the July 27 weekend, where TASC netball club were to host the other seven league teams. As per normal fixture the matches were first planned to be played here on the July 6 weekend, but were deferred to the July 27 weekend because grounds that were being used for school competitions. 'TASC as hosts were supposed to organise playing fields for the games to be held this past weekend, but they later indicated that they had not been able to secure grounds for the games, which forced the second postponement.

The games will be played at a vocational school (Francistown College of Technical and Vocational Education (FCTVE)) in Gerald Estates,' Kololo said. Other first round games were played in Mahalapye, Serowe and Orapa.Had it not been for the two postponements the games were supposed to end in Palapye last weekend.TASC currently lead the eight-team league with eight points from four outings. Miscellaneous are in second place with six points. Sua Flamingoes are in third position with six points from five matches. Arsenal, who are on the fourth spot, have accumulated six points from four games. All the teams that have six points are separated by goal difference.

Mahalapye outfit Botsrail are fifth with four points. In the six and seventh positions are Orapa Wanderers and Morupule Wanderers. Orapa have however played five matches, a match more than Palapye. The two clubs have accumulated two points each and are only separated by goal difference. Dukwi United, who are yet to register a point from their four outings, are at the bottom.
