ECCO ditch Malepa, Legoreng

Legoreng's contract with Mamoja diski came to an end in December last year and has not been renewed because the player was deemed surplus to requirements. Bolelang on the other hand was let go by the club after the two parties could not agree on terms after months of negotiations.

The former Zebras marksman's original contract came to an end in June last year. Another offer was tabled for Bolelang but the player snubbed it demanding more.  After protracted negotiations that lasted over four months, last December the club reportedly decided to part ways with the player.

'The club believed that the player is past his days and does not deserve an offer he demanded. 'That is why they let him go when he snubbed an offer given to him. They just wanted him to guide the youngsters,' an insider revealed.

ECCO City Greens has also reportedly placed three players on the transfer list. The three players, who were deemed surplus to requirements, are third choice goalie Segakolodi Ntima, midfielder Gaboratanelwe Kgosiitsile and defender Wabo Mugabe.

Apparently, the trio have failed to establish themselves at the club since they were brought in a few seasons ago.ECCO secretary general, Moses Special Jackson confirmed yesterday in an interview that the club has decided to stop persuading Bolelang to sign a new contract.

'We have been persuading the player to sign a new contract since June last year. We have since decided to let him go after we failed to agree on terms.'As for Legoreng's contract, it ended in December last year and we decided against renewing it because he was deemed an unwanted quantity by the technical team,' he said.

Moses also confirmed that the club has placed Ntima, Kgosiitsile and Mugabe on the transfer list.'The three players are not training with the team as they have been told to secure clubs for themselves. They were also released as per request of the technical team because they are not in the plans of the club,' he disclosed.

Contacted for comment yesterday Bolelang said: 'All I know is that negotiations with the club were supposed to resume this year. 'It's news to me that the club has decided against persuading me to sign a new contract.'
