Chambeshi won't rejoin Chiefs yet

 

Chambeshi was tipped to take over from Madinda Ndlovu who has since joined cross-town rivals Township Rollers.It was recently announced that Chambeshi would return to Chiefs, as head coach again in time for the start of the new be MOBILE Premier League season.But the Zambian mentor told Mmegi Sport that his new employers had said they could only release him in October.

'My new team say they can only release me in October, we are still talking though,' he told Mmegi Sport.Chambeshi took up a job at Zambia Super Division side Konkola Blades last week.Chambeshi's move was confirmed on Saturday afternoon.He has a two-year contract with Blades in Chililabombwe, a town located some 25km from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) border post of Kasumbalesa.'I have gone to Konkola; I started work on Thursday. I have been given a two-year contract,' Chambeshi revealed.

The former Chipolopolo legend took over from Enos Silwimba who has been relegated to the post of assistant coach.Chambeshi was fired by Kitwe-based Power Dynamos last June.Konkola Blades are in the bottom half of the Zambian Super Division table with 16 points after 14 matches.When in Botswana Chambeshi led Chiefs to a league title triumph during the 2007/08 season. He finished second the following season.Meanwhile, Chiefs are reportedly chasing an European mentor to lead the club in the 2013/14 season.
