Tshosane laughs off dismissal talk

Strong reports suggesting that Botswana Football Association (BFA) had given Tshosane the boot circulated over the weekend following the team's failure to go beyond the group stages at the COSAFA recently.But Tshosane drilled his charges on Saturday before giving the team a break on Sunday. Speaking to Mmegi Sport shortly before yesterday's training session at SSKB Stadium, Tshosane said: 'I have a contract with BFA and if ever that is to happen then we all know the professional procedure.' He added that while he was disappointed by the failure to progress to the COSAFA quarterfinals, he drew some positives from the tournament.  'I was equally disappointed by not advancing to the quarterfinals, but I noted a couple of positives from the team itself. We only played three games and one of our players (Jerome Ramatlhakwana) went on to win the top goal scorer award. Unfortunately, people have different ways of looking at it,' Tshosane said.

He revealed that his plan ahead the COSAFA and CHAN was a camp in May, which did not go ahead. Tshosane said he had specifically wanted to prepare for the two competitions. His preparations for Saturday's tie have been upset by Gaborone United striker, Tebogo Sembowa's groin injury. Sembowa is key in the coach's plans ahead of the Zambia fixture and Tshosane is unsure if the player will recover in time for the match. 'Our biggest challenge right now is Sembowa's groin injury.  It looks a little bit serious, but we will monitor and see how he recovers,' he said. Tshosane went on to reveal Musa Ohilwe and Gaborone United's Tebogo Sosome were also yet to join camp.

Meanwhile, Gaborone United and national team goalkeeper Noah Maposa was scheduled to leave for South Africa yesterday.  Maposa was to attend medical tests and to discuss personal terms with First Division side Thanda Royal Zulu.  Confirming the development, Maposa said he was likely to return tomorrow and should be available for Saturday's game. The former Premiership club are said to be keen to sign the former Under 23 shot-stopper without a trial. Maposa has previously had a stint in the South African First Division when he turned out for Bay United under David Bright.
