Barclays rewards employees

Giving a keynote address at the event, the bank board member Alfred Dube said Barclays has a long standing commitment to a set of pillars encapsulated in its five Cs - Company, Colleague, Customer, Citizenship and Conduct.'These pillars or score card define who we are, what we stand for, and they are our roadmap because taken in totality, they help us translate our objective of being the 'Go-To' bank. They are the yardstick against which we want to be measured,' said Dube.He explained the fifth C for conduct was recently added to the list. 'My understanding of conduct is that it is the behaviour of every Barclays Bank employee. It is about ethics and responsibility, respect and cooperation. It is our promise to all our stakeholders that where you go to see a Barclays employee, you will see a role model at work, at home and within the community,' said Dube. He added that it is through the bank employees that Barclays continue to deliver the desired value for the stakeholders. 'I cannot overemphasise that we can only live our commitments through our colleagues. Our position as a market leader, our success as a business and our standing in the community as a symbol of hope rests on the shoulders of every employee of Barclays Bank of Botswana,' said Dube. He stated that the event was  a recognition of the role colleagues play in the story of the bank. 'We are here to recognise and celebrate top achievers among our colleagues who were rewarded with promotions, our biggest stars for the past quarter,' he said.

He hailed the winners for serving the bank with dedication and distinction. He said the employees have positioned the bank as a leading player in the banking industry.Barclays interim managing director, Oupa Monyatsi said the bank has achieved success over many years because of its employees. 'It is my sincere wish that by end of this short programme, we will appreciate that hard work will be recognised...Your names will go down in the history of this market as one of the movers and shakers of our industry and opportunities for such are endless,' said Monyatsi.
