Rantao, Ramogotsi shine on Durban beaches

The Botswana artists performed at the internationally acclaimed Durban July's after party titled All White Party that was hosted on the beach on Sunday. Rantao and Ramogotsi demonstrated how versatile they are, as their performance were spontaneous. The two started with an acapella version of Ramogotsi's song Lerole La Tsie, which they sang with gusto. They then performed Rantao's Meropa with the same level of energy.

In an interview with Showbiz, Rantao expressed her excitement and said that the experience was lovely and quite an opportunity for her to market herself as a musician. She said that she was amazed at the positive response that she and Ramogotsi got when they were performing. Furthermore, Rantao said that this was her chance to show South Africans that Batswana are not only good with traditional dance, but with other music genres. 'We are capable and we have managed to get ourselves new fans. That is good for us as we have penetrated a new market,' she said.

For her part, Ramogotsi said that her performance was a breakthrough on the South African entertainment scene.She related that the experience was amazing for her as there were promoters and marketing people from South African Tourism (SAT) who all saw the performance.'Our music was new to them and it interested them. It's not like their music so that is good enough, as it will sell us, ' she added. Ramogotsi said that although they sang with a back track, the fact that they often do live performances would always work to their advantage.
