AFCON 2013 a financial success

The LOC yesterday delivered the results of the tournament staged in South Africa in January and February this year, labelling it both an organisational and financial success.AFCON 2013 saw record crowd attendances, which played a massive part in the financial windfall. Sponsorships and corporate hospitality sales further boosted the coffers, which had been predicted to make a profit of only R500 000.'With this report, the LOC has accounted for the tournament. SAFA is now closing this chapter and the next chapter is Chan 2014,' SAFA president Kirsten Nematandani announced.

The 2014 African Nations Championship, the third edition of the tournament, will be hosted by South Africa early next year.(Kick-Off)
