Femidom good for men with weak erection - BONEPWA

Allan Tshekedi said this during BONEPWA's ongoing community volunteers training workshop at Tati River Lodge (TRL) in a lecture on consistent and correct condom use.  He said men afflicted by weak erection usually lose erection while trying to insert the male condom. He said that this could be avoided by using the female condom.'Teach men with this problem to teach their partners to use it to deal with this problem so that couples can enjoy sexual activities in their homes. 'We do not want to see families breaking up due to lack of sex in their homes. It is your duty to sensitise them on this issue as community volunteers,' he said. Tshekedi said the volunteer training also covers alcohol and substance abuse.

Volunteers are expected to provide substance abusers with support and refer them to further information and counselling.They will work hand in hand with health workers for follow-up and referral of patients to health services and psycho-social support.He said a condom is the most effective protective measure against HIV, sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and pregnancy.Discussants at the workshop were entertained by fellow volunteers led by Segopotso Shomana from Maun. Shomana demonstrated how both the female and male condoms should be used.
