Galane Mine holds Family Fun Day

According to Galane Mine's Family Fun Day Coordinator, Setlalekgosi Kooreme, there was a variety of games for employees' families with four teams competing in volleyball, football, netball, egg and sack races and tug-of-war.The teams were made up of four pits, namely, Signal Hill, Golden Eagle, Tholo and Kwena.Said the mine's CEO, Philip Condon, in an interview: 'These kinds of events are a way of showing appreciation to the employees who are forever at work and have no time to spend with their families. With families coming together, it also builds work relations and enables the employees to relax and have fun,' he said.

Condon went on to say that Galane Mine had seen fit to support its employees who would in turn report to work more refreshed and thus increase their productivity.'The employees are the company's most important assets and keeping them happy is important,' he added.He would not disclose how much money had gone into the event, saying there was more to life than monetary things.'This is an investment because as time goes on, the children that are here will work for the company when they are old enough and they will cherish the moments they would have had as part of the Galane Mine family,' Condon said.
