Wonder's Carlos Leukeu was sent off for a second bookable offence late in the second half. He was shown his first yellow after using some foul language before being given the second for time wasting. The first division log leaders, Wonder, had to hang on for a draw with 10-men.
Both goals were scored in the first half with Wonder drawing first blood 12 minutes into the game. The goal came off a well struck free kick by defender Bashin Madisaotsile from just outside the 18-yard box. The police outfit were in total control of the rest of the first half after the goal, but conceded a goal at the stroke of half time in a once-off Black Peril attack.
Zambian striker Roy Makai levelled terms in the 45th minute with a curly strike from outside the 18-yard box that hit the upright before nestling into the net. Action swung from one end to the next in the second half and both teams created scoring chances to grab the much-needed points.
However, they fluffed the chances. Wonder goal scorer Modisaotsile said he was disappointed by the result. 'I'm happy I could get the goal for the team as a defender, but the result is obviously not a good one because Masitaoka and Comets are also putting pressure on us and we cannot afford to be dropping points,' he said. Peril captain Raymond Gumbo believes the race is still wide open.
'The one point we got is better than nothing but one would have hoped for a win because the race is still wide open,' he said.
