Railway line Inspires Cresta Magnificence

The theme of the interior decor says a lot about Mahalapye's traditional identity, the railway line. The new hotel structure captures this image of a railway line, making the designs of the Cresta hotel, a marvel to watch and the only one of its kind. The hotel has been mainly built to provide business and leisure.  It offers the perfect stopover along the busy A1 that stretches from Gaborone in the South to Francistown in the North.

Another attracting feature about the hotel is the pool terrace which is between the rooms and the Restaurant. The pool side enables the visitors to have a good time of relaxation, dining or wining the poolside.

In a country where hotels charge for the internet, journalists learnt during the tour of the Cresta Mahalapye Hotel that wi-fi internet is actually free there.  For fitness fanatics the Cresta hotel is also fitted with a gym.

Although there were not many bookings at the hotel, during the evening the hotel mood lightened up as many came to dine and wine while listening to music at the restaurant. It is a project that has been on the offing since 2011 when the Cresta Marakanelo group announced they were erecting a 65 room hotel in Mahalapye.

The Mahalapye project, which cost P35 million is expected to employ 110 people while in full swing.  The official opening of the Cresta Mahalapye hotel is scheduled for  April-May this year, although it has been functioning, taking bookings and entertaining guests since February this year.
