Amos sets new 400m record

Amos' silver medal at the London 2012 Olympics came from his favoured 800 metres, but he has lately been running in the 400 metre races. Efforts to get Amos, who has relocated to South Africa, were futile, but the runner wrote on his Facebook page: 'We are so lucky to have such good coaches,' His teammates high jumper, Kabelo Kgosiemang cleared 2.15 metres to finish first while Stephan Seoke finished second in javelin throwing 70.28 metres.

However, Pako Seribe finished eighth while Isaac Seoke finished fourth in the 800 metres. The athletes were using the competition to try and qualify for the World Championships to be held in Russia in July. Three athletes Amantle Montsho, Kabelo Kgosiemang and Isaac Makwala have already qualified for the competition.
