BFA executive member suspended

In November last year when the Algerian Under-17 team came to play the Diamond Zebras in the African Youth Championship, they left a debt of P23, 300 at Travel Lodge. The BFA alleged received a payment of US$2,734 or (P22,000) from the Algerians. It is alleged that the official, name known to Mmegi Sport, used the money for his personal business without consulting the NEC, but later paid it.

Indications are that the association's president, Tebogo Sebego and a small section of the National Executive Committee (NEC) met yesterday afternoon and decided to suspend the member. 'They have decided to suspend the official and he should be getting his letter of suspension anytime from now,' said a BFA source.BFA boss, Tebogo Sebego said he was waiting to hear from the task force and his association would have a position on the matter upon the release of the report. He said they were still to meet yesterday in the evening.'The position is that there was an issue pertaining to the Algeria account. I have asked some people to review the issue from that trip and give us full information. There were allegations which the official has answered and there was a verification process which the task force was to confirm.

I will be giving a report from task force and that is when I will know the way forward. But if somebody does not do things properly it does not matter who they are, principles apply to everyone,' Sebego told Mmegi Sport. Efforts to get the official's comment proved futile last night as he is said to be out of town.
