DC delay frustrates Rollers

Manager Gaone Kerileng said that the issue was brought before the DC in March but there is still no feedback yet.The DC verdict will determine the league champions after Rollers were accused of using a defaulter.

Rollers plan to write the Status Committee because the DC was supposed to meet them on Monday but they did not form a quorum hence the appeal could not be heard. Rollers' appeal was to be tabled last week Tuesday but the disciplinary committee did not show up, hence it was postponed to Monday this week.  However, the meeting did not take place and was postponed to Wednesday. Again it did not go ahead because there was again no quorum. Kerileng told Mmegi sport that she was planning to meet the Rollers' management yesterday afternoon to map the way forward.

A favourable ruling will see Rollers crowned AT&T Monnakgotla league champions as the team will reclaim six points and four goals they lost at a hearing held on February 18.Rollers are currently sitting in second place with 84 points, four behind their archrivals, Double Action. The curtain went down on the league last week Thursday and the DC's ruling would have determined the champions.Rollers lost points after Meat Girls and Mogoditshane Fighters complained that Lebogang Setereke was a defaulter. Setereke was loaned to Cyclone Stars FC in Zimbabwe from June to December last year.

The Rollers manager said Setereke is registered with them and was even on the team list for the first round. The judgment against Rollers maintains that Setereke did not register with Rollers because what exist between the two parties are the international transfer certificate and the registration book she used before moving to Cyclone.Rollers were also fined P500 and suspended for a season on condition that they do not commit a similar offence.

Meanwhile, the meeting between the sponsor and the league committee, which was scheduled for last Saturday, was cancelled because some of the committee members were unavailable. The meeting was meant to set the date for the awards and discuss some issues affecting the league.
