Wonder, Comets brace for final act

Log leaders Wondre Sporting are away to Killer Giants in Ramotswa, while second placed Comets host Young Strikers. Both teams are left with two tricky games that could easily cost them automatic qualification. The police outfit, Sporting, are well aware Giants are still in with a chance to win the league and will be eager to cause an upset when they meet tomorrow.

Interestingly, Giants beat Sporting 1-0 in their own backyard in the first leg tie and playing at home this time should give them a slight edge. But then, records show Sporting have been good travellers this season, something that their assistant coach Summer Ncube believes could work in their favour.'We have done extremely well away from home, most of our draws were at home when I make a comparison with our away record,' Ncube told Mmegi Sport.

He, however, admits that this time could be a whole lot different with Giants still eager to seize the chance to gain automatic promotion. Sporting are at the top with 38 points while Comets are second with 36. Giants are just a point behind Comets after beating Kanye Swallows 2-0 last weekend and a win against Sporting will see them level on points with the log leaders.'Killer Giants will definitely be a tricky one for us considering they are also in a position to qualify automatically. So the game will be like a cup final. A loss is no acceptable result and I think we have prepared well for it,' Ncube added. Sporting's speedy winger Thato Madima and striker Mkhululi Moyo should carry the day for them. The two were in outstanding form when they drew 1-1 against Comets last weekend with Moyo scoring their goal.

Their last game of the season is against Masitaoka on May 11 at home.On the other hand, Comets look likely to face resistance from Young Strikers, who are fighting against relegation. Comets' star player Goareng Supang warned his teammates to be wary of Strikers and Modipane United, who they face in the final game. 'Playing away to Modipane will definitely be difficult. We don't want to go for play-offs which means we need to win both games and see how Wonder play,' said Supang.
