Rollers appeal today

A favourable ruling will see Rollers crowned women's soccer league champions. Rollers are currently sitting on the second spot with 81 points, just four behind their archrivals, Double Action.Rollers lost points after Meat Girls and Mogoditshane Fighters complained that Lebogang Setereke was a defaulter. According to the team manager, Gaone Kerileng, Setereke was loaned to Cyclone Stars FC in Zimbabwe from June to December last year.Kerileng told Monitor Sport that Setereke's clearance came on the 30th January.

They collected it a day later and used the player, as they knew that a player who was on loan does not require a new book.'It was after our game against Meat Girls that the league chairperson Senki Sesinyi told us that teams were protesting against the use of Setereke,' Kerileng said.Rollers coach Victor Tshambane attended a hearing on February 14 where he asked to be shown protest letters and receipts of payment of the protest fee.

At a hearing scheduled for February 18th , Rollers was found to have breached some clauses and subsequently lostsix points and four goals. The Rollers manager said Setereke is registered with them and was even on the team list for the first round.

The judgement against Rollers maintains that Setereke did not register with Rollers because what exists between the two parties are the international transfer certificate and the registration book she used before moving to Cyclone.Rollers was also fined P500 and suspended for a season on condition that it does not commit a similar offence.

Reached for comment, Mogoditshane Fighters coach Justin Mmereki said the player is a defaulter and Senki made them aware of that immediately after their game because the player was with other Double Action players in Zimbabwe who were not playing as they were still awaiting clearance from Zimbabwe.

Mmereki said he was in the dark about protest fees as their team manager is the one who attended the hearing.Rollers'appeal was scheduled for Tuesday but the disciplinary committee did not show up hence postponed to Monday.
