Ralph Exits My Star Top 10 Battle

The two contestants, though failing to gain more votes resulting in Ralph's departure from the show, have been impressive contestants throughout the competition.Together with Hailey, they received the fewest votes - but not for lack of trying. This is especially true for Vusi who is one of the strongest contenders.

Hailey, who keeps missing the exist door by a nick, was surely relieved when she was spared from battling because she had more votes than Vusi and Ralph.Leaving the show at this stage for Ralph was bitter-sweet.He began his journey on My Star as one of the weakest vocalists, but he managed to rise through the brutal remarks from the judges and audience to become one of the sought-after performers. He interacted very well with the audience, which is something DJ Sid often commended him for.

It was evident that DJ Sid believed in Ralph and his ability; he was the only judge who gave him his vote. But it was not enough to save him as Master Dee and Kgomotso rooted for Vusi.Meanwhile as the show continues and draws closer to the grand finale, contestants are still struggling to win over the judges with their task songs.  The judges are unimpressed, especially since all the contestants seem to be doing well on individual and duet chosen songs.

Kagiso, Tebogo and Vusi were the only contestants who impressed the judges with their task songs. Should Both of them to go all the way in the show, it would give the audience and their supporters the challenge of choosing a favourite between the two strong contestants. 

Hailey was also identified earlier in the show as someone who would go all the way and was often told by the judges that she stood a real chance at winning, but now she seems to be buckling under pressure. Her performances have been lackluster lately and she is even being out-shined by otherwise lesser able contestants than her. It remains to be seen if she will improve in the coming weeks to gain the audience's and judge's trust in her, and to challenge the boys for a spot in the finale.
