FRANCISTOWN: Evergreen Tumelo Mazebedi and enterprising Thapelo Mosweu scored a brace each as visiting Orapa United crushed Francistown side, Amakhosi 5-0 in the Debswana First Division North League match at the Leopards Grounds on Saturday afternoon.
Though Orapa dominated throughout the game, the visitors had the first shot on target after goalkeeper Kaelo Joseph set up Opelo Godfrey through a route one strategy. It was a good effort, but the Amakhosi goalkeeper, Mosheto Kafuku dealt with it. But soon after, an unmarked Mosweu scored with a flashing header. Amakhosi tried to regroup, but it was not an easy task as they failed to create chances.
The solid defensive midfield display by Winky Motsamai and Thato Ganetsang for Orapa was enough to quell danger. The first half ended with Orapa leading 1-0. After the break, Amakhosi under the tutelage of former TAFIC, Notwane and Nico United goalkeeper, Vincent Chikumba played with urgency and attacked in numbers but this left them exposed at the back. They were duly punished two minutes after the restart by the free scoring Mazebedi.
The striker received a clinical pass at the centre dribbled two defenders before releasing a low scorcher that left Kafuku sprawled on the dusty ground. Ganetsang and Godfrey terrorised Amakhosi from the flanks with the latter's cross finding Mazebedi on the edge of the box to make it 3-0.
Mosweu scored his second to give Orapa a 4-0 lead though Amakhosi did not lose hope as thhey continued attacking their opponents. Amakhosi lost possession in the middle of the pack and Ompolokile Alone pounced to make 5-0.
