First division south battle goes to the wire

 

Wonder visited Killer Giants in Ramotswa on Saturday and emerged victorious courtesy of a solitary strike by former Santos and Police XI marksman, Farisai Nyamunawendo late in the second half.The win saw them maintain their two point lead before their final game against Masitaoka on Saturday in Gaborone.In Jwaneng,fellow title contenders Comets beat Young Strikers 2-0.

The former Premiership outfit scored two first half goals through Lebogang Khubamang to maintain pressure on Wonder. Kick-off was delayed by over an hour after the match officials arrived late. Wonder's assistant coach, Summer Ncube said the win was a boost to their chances of booking an automatic place in the be MOBILE Premier League. 'It was a very tricky game for us, but we managed to avoid conceding and got our only goal late in the second half.

But we cannot afford to relax ahead of the last game, we need to continue fighting,' Ncube said.Comets will face Modipane United away from home in their final game. 

The club's chairman, Njabulo Gilika is wary ahead of their visit to Modipane. He said they had hoped Wonder would falter against Giants. 'We are happy with today's (Saturday) result although the result in Ramotswa does not favour us,' said Gilika. The final games of the season will be played this weekend.
