Macheso enthusiastic on Slizer duet

The two have shared the stage in several shows in Zimbabwe including government-organised galas, but could not link up because of Slizer's baby bump.

Macheso was in the country over the weekend and held shows in Francistown and Gaborone. The vastly talented guitarist could not hide his adoration for the Botswana star, adding that she had 'become like my own sister'.'When I look at her passion for what she does, I can only predict a bright future for her. We've performed together a few times and she's struck me as a talented and dedicated musician,' Macheso told Showbiz.

'It's a pity the last tour we were to have together did not materialise as planned, but I'm sure when she is ready we will definitely link up again.'The last time the two had shows scheduled in Francistown and Gaborone, they only performed in the north and had to cancel the Gaborone gig.

He made reassurances that they would still work together on a joint project next year. The two are due to link up for a show in Zimbabwe and both see it as an opportunity to strengthen ties. 'We have previously discussed wanting to work together and I can assure our fans in both countries that it's still in the pipeline. I admire her style quite a lot and believe we will make a great pair.

I look forward to that project though I doubt it will be this year. It will likely happen next year,' said the man popularly known as Cheso Power. He is thrilled to learn that Slizer has been singing one of his popular songs, Zvakanaka Zvakadaro, during her local shows.

'It's quite heartening to hear that, it shows that we have hearts to promote each other which is a good thing,' he said.Slizer has slowed down on her music since tying the knot. In December last year, she shied away from music to spend time with her husband. The two lovebirds first met in Johannesburg. Her hubby is a bodyguard of a South African tycoon who owns a chain of hotels. The two are expecting their first child some time in winter.
