PAC summons PS over Jamali building

It is reported that twice PPADB rejected the lease of the building in the new Gaborone Central Business District (CBD) to the Ministry of Defence, Justice and Security. 

Before the PAC yesterday, the Ministry of Lands and Housing Permanent Secretary, Thato Raphaka, admitted the government erred in signing the lease with Jamali.'The procurement process was not followed,' he explained.Raphaka was told by Modubule to appear again with the PS for Defence, Justice and Security, Segakweng Tsiane to help resolve the matter.

'You and another accounting officer of the Ministry of Defence, Justice and Security are to appear before us to deal with this matter extensively to resolve it to its finality,' Modubule informed the PS. Media reports indicate that the government would pay over P33.6 million a year to rent Jamali's building.
