Chiefs in tussle over Ndoro's signature

The mercurial forward has been training with Chiefs in the past two weeks and was part of their squad that travelled to South Africa for preparatory friendly matches against SuperSport United and Kaizer Chiefs last week.

This was despite the Zimbabwean club's insistence that the player still belonged to them and wanted him back in Bulawayo.

Chiefs' communications manager, Clifford Mogomotsi said they were on the verge of signing the player. He said he was aware of the Bulawayo club's complaint.

'The player was sent to us by his agent, we will only engage Chicken Inn when we have sorted out things with the agent, if they have anything to complain about this we refer them to the agent,' Mogomotsi told Mmegi Sport.

Ndoro signed an extension in April last year, a deal that keeps him at the club until 2015. Mmegi Sport has a copy of the contract.

According to the contract, the player is to receive a signing on fee at the end of next month. However, it appears his basis for wanting to leave is that the money has not been paid.

Chicken Inn secretary Tawengwa Hara fired a salvo at the Kgatleng giants saying his club would soon lodge a complaint to the Botswana Football Association (BFA).

'They are aware the player belongs to Chicken Inn because we sent them a copy of the contract, but to our surprise they keep on using our player in friendlies. We are sending our complaint to their association through ZIFA that the player belongs to us,' Hara said.

He said the agent was not the owner of the player.'If they think they can buy the player from an agent they can go ahead. We will see whether the agent will clear the player to them. They should not bother us anymore.' Ndoro featured in Chiefs' game against Kaizer Chiefs and they lost 4-0.  He was also in action when they lost 3-0 to SuperSport.

Ndoro has always courted controversy each time he moves to a new club. His move to Nico United in 2009 was followed by ownership claims by two Zimbabwean clubs.

Ndoro had just signed a two-year deal with Bantu Rovers of Bulawayo while his former club Kujatana also claimed he still belonged to them.

Chiefs are also not new to international transfer controversy after their issue with FC Platinum regarding Joel Mogorosi's move to Bloemfontein Celtic. FC Platinum had paid for the player's services, but Chiefs went on to sell him to the Free State Stars.
