TASC thump Amakhosi

Otsile Batang, Phenyo Koonyatse and Mothata Lucas scored the goals for TASC, who further underlined their credentials as genuine contenders for a better finishing this season with a clinical performance that coach Boinyana Galeboe will be delighted with. Both teams attacked strongly from the early stages, with TASC forcing Amakhosi goalkeeper Mosheti Kafuko into a good save on five minutes when a Lucas thunderbolt just outside the box threatened to drift into the back of the net.

Lucas should have opened the scoring in the 10th minute, only to blaze a volley off target, but just six minutes later he combined superbly with Batang before stabbing a low shot into the net via the inside of the post to make it 1-0 to the home side.In the 21st minute, Amakhosi conceded another goal through the gifted boot of Koonyatse.Just past the half hour mark Amakhosi though they had pulled one back when a not so threatening push of the ball into the back of the net from Boipuso Balipe was ruled offside. Referee Tebogo Stephen raised his hand for an offside much to the chagrin of the Amakhosi bench. TASC were dealt a major blow at the same time when their first choice goalkeeper Tebatso Basinyi limped off after a hamstrung pull, forcing Galeboe to replace his ace shot stopper with relatively new Kenosi Masimo.

Yet the replacement made some brilliant serves especially in the last five minutes of the first stanza and the rest of the second half. The two sides went for the breather with the home side in the lower division Francistown derby leading 2-0. After the break, TASC started like a house on fire like in the first half. And just after minutes into the second half, TASC's unending efforts were rewarded when a point-blank header from Lucas could not be saved by a stretching Kafuko. Amakhosi responded by using all three substitutes around the hour mark, and Kago Kaizer -one of the trio withdrawn - had two glorious chances in the first fifteen minutes of the second half but on both occasions he saw his efforts saved by Masimo.
