Isaiah inspires Wells to emphatic victory

Isaiah was making her maiden appearance for Wells after joining them from Police IX recently.The Wells' new signing got them off to a great start in the top one inning when she scored her double run homer. Iponeng Molapong had opened the score sheet earlier when Vikings failed to effectively deal with Masego Morake's miscued hit, allowing Molapong, who was at third base, to complete a run.Then came the debutant whose third hit got her a homer and also allowed Morake, who was at second base, to make it three for the visiting side. Vikings then struggled to bat, thanks to Wells' outstanding pitcher Gakenosi Makata, who took them out in no time.Makata was only making her third start for the Jwaneng side and, without a doubt, gave a good account of herself.

The top of the second inning was not as fruitful for Wells with Lebang Mosime and Doreen Tsima being taken out early into the inning. But Gaamangwe Moagi scored the fourth run to keep her side firmly in the lead. Vikings were still out of sorts in the bottom of that inning before an equally disappointing outing by Wells in the following inning.They then rose from their slumber in the top five inning to finish off their opponents. Kelebogile Isesere scored their fifth run after her teammate's shot was mishandled by a Vikings player. They took advantage of their opponents' poor batting in the top six inning as Isaiah capped a fine afternoon with another homer. Thereafter, Vikings called it quits with two more innings to play. Their coach Pako Maforaga admitted her team put up a dismal performance.In other matches played on Saturday, Blue Angels beat Gatalamotho 10-9 while Wells men lost to Vikings 6-1 before beating Blue Angels 6-1 to remain in second spot.
