BNSC awards moved to June?

The postponement is said to have been informed by the retrenchment exercise at the council. The sports mother body is said to be focusing its time and energy on downsizing, a process that is expected to end in June.

However, BNSC chief executive officer (CEO) Percy Raditladi did not take kindly to the allegations about the event being moved.

'Whoever told you this has a problem; it is a lie,' Raditladi charged. The adjudication process for the awards that should have started last year has also not taken off although the not so amused Raditladi refused to shed light on the matter saying it is an internal matter.

'It is an internal matter, so you will get no answer,' he said.  Raditladi also rubbished the possibility of retrenchments affecting the quality of the awards, as there will be enough personnel to prepare for them. 'How can you possibly link awards to retrenchment? There will be no effect whatsoever,' he said. Raditladi whose tone of answering questions through email was not very friendly also described as nonsense insinuations that the process of retrenching staff was not properly planned and that retrenched staff did not receive counselling. Some staff are said to have been retrenched, but reinstated in few hours. 'What do you think? A psychologist has been engaged and staff were informed way back in December 2012,'Raditladi said.

The BNSC boss explained that the psychologist is still open to help those who may need help. 'Whoever is telling you that he or she was not given counselling is lying,' Raditladi said.  Raditladi said the retrenchment has been properly planned and that the employer reserves the right to determine how the process is to be implemented as long as it is within the labour laws.
