Yesterday, the draw for the last 16 of the knock-out competition produced four all-Premier League clashes and with some of the top clubs facing giant killers, the big name casualties might be higher.
The draw done at BBS Mall in Gaborone has made sure that the minnows will make at least half of the clubs in the last eight.
In the pairing of minnows, Naughty Boys host fellow Premier League side Boteti Young Fighters; while Prisons XI visit Santos. The clash of lightweights is completed by the pairing of lower division sides Stone Breakers and Mochudi Buffaloes; and Letlapeng against Monarch. The match of the weekend is the all-Premier League clash between bitter rivals Gaborone United and Notwane. The duel promises to be a humdinger. Both sides escaped with a narrow 1-0 victories last weekend to proceed to this stage. Military side, BDF XI have a tricky date against their brothers-in-arms, Police XI. Going by history, BDF XI have never had problems with beating the Jungle Kings who are now languishing in the First Division. But since this is a cup game, things might change. Extension Gunners are expected to travel to the north for a meeting with TAFIC as national champions Mochudi Centre Chiefs face First Division side Wonder Sporting. Both sides met in the round of 32 last year in Mochudi and Chiefs ran away with a slim 1-0 victory.
