Keofitlhetse leaves for Miss World next week

Miss Botswana Rosemary Keofitlhetse leaves for Jakarta, Indonesia on Monday for the Miss World pageant billed for September 28, 2013.

She said she is looking forward to the pageant, adding that she has been busy with preparations for the event. "I wake up at 4.30 am to go to the gym. I am also attending grooming and voice training lessons," she said about her preparations.She revealed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation is also briefing her on international relations. "I have already done my wardrobe for Miss World.  My dresses are ready. Everything is in place," she said.She recently participated in refurbishing the Botswana Council of Women (BCW) premises in Gaborone as part of her portfolio project for the Miss World pageant. The premises also house a pre-school. To her, competing in the Miss World pageant is not only about herself but representing her country. "I am going to do my level best to put my country on the map," she posited.  "If you do everything that you are required, you stand a good chance of succeeding".

The chairperson of the Miss Botswana sub committee Bogadi Nwako is equally upbeat about the forthcoming international event. She also revealed that preparations are at an advanced stage for the Miss Botswana's participation.Nwako said Miss Botswana held a kiddies day at Phakalane Golf Estates last weekend. A farewell dinner for Miss Botswana has been planned for Saturday at Phakalane Golf Estates.   "We appeal to companies and individuals to book a table for this event," said Nwako, adding that tickets are available at the BCW offices.She expressed confidence that Keofitlhetse will represent the country well at the Miss World pageant."She is not going to participate but to compete," she said confidently.She appealed to Batswana to support Keofitlhetse, adding that people should turn up in large numbers at the airport on Monday to give her a fitting send-off.
