Couture Confections, founded by William Ntoni in 2019, stands at the intersection of high fashion and baking, offering an unparalleled experience in Botswana.

Inspired by the haute couture concept, the business is not just about baking; it’s about making each creation a stylish statement. In an interview with BusinessMonitor, Couture Confections’ representative, Amogelang Modisane, said the company specialises in creating visually stunning and delicious cakes, cupcakes, macaroons, and cake jars in flavours such as lemon, strawberry, carrot, red velvet, and vanilla and caramel.

She explained that each piece is meticulously designed, reflecting the latest trends in fashion and offering clients an exclusive, customised treat. “One of our specialties is the production of macaroons in various flavours providing a refreshing and flavourful beverage option,” said Modisane, who is a baker and decorator at the company. Additionally, the company is renowned for its customised cakes, which are meticulously crafted to suit any occasion or celebration, allowing customers to recreate Couture Confection’s signature taste in the comfort of their own homes. With a clientele that includes major corporates like Bayport, Bank Gaborone, and DHL, Couture Confections has made a significant mark in the industry.

The company also caters to individuals for special occasions such as birthdays, Valentine’s Day, Father’s Day, and Mother’s Day, ensuring each event is celebrated with style and flavour. “Self-funded from inception, Couture Confections aims to expand its reach across Botswana, with plans to open new branches in the coming years,” said Modisane. “In future the goal is to bring our unique blend of fashion and baking to a wider audience. We want to branch our business across Botswana as at the moment we have one branch, which is in Gaborone.” Every Thursday, Couture Confections offers discounts on cakes, making their high-quality, fashion-inspired desserts more accessible.

The company is dedicated to using the finest ingredients, ensuring every bite is a delightful experience. “One may wonder what makes us stand out there in the baking industry?” “We pay attention to every single detail. Each creation is crafted with precision and care. We offer fashion-inspired designs, modern and stylish desserts that stand out. Also, we use the best ingredients and make personalised treats for any occasion,” added Modisane. She further highlighted that Couture Confections prides itself as an independent company. This demonstrates the founder’s entrepreneurial spirit and determination to establish a successful business. By relying solely on their own resources, Couture Confections has managed to build a strong foundation and maintain control over its operations.

This self-sufficiency has allowed the company to focus on product quality and customer satisfaction, resulting in its rapid growth and recognition within the industry. “Even though we are self-funded, we do welcome any financial help,” said Modisane. With a specialisation in customised cakes, cakesicles and cupcakes, Couture Confections continues to captivate the taste buds of its customers. As the company continues to grow and expand, it is poised to become a household name in Botswana’s bakery industry, offering exceptional products that delight and satisfy customers’ cravings. Couture Confections is located in the Sweet Voice Complex at Block 3 Industrial, Gaborone.
