Local entrepreneur, Same Diseko, has followed her passion for design which was cultivated at a young age. Diseko says she was forced into Design and Technology subject during school days, which later compelled her to pursue interior design as a career.

She shared her journey in the world of design with BusinessMonitor. “It all started in high school when I did Design and Technology which I aced, and then proceeded to the senior school, and passed as well,” Diseko said. “I later enrolled for Interior Architecture at Limkokwing University of Creative Technology where I graduated top of my class.” According to the designer, she then got employed at a local interior design company where she worked for 10 years before starting her own company.

Then in 2020, 808 Renic Interiors was born. The company offers interior design, landscaping, architectural services, as well as mechanical and electrical engineering. “We do space planning, conceptualise, do customised design and offer office interior,” she said. “We normally do site visits then do space planning, then 3D designs where they bring space to life before they conceptualise it, then we select material for the customer. If approved, we go into installation, furniture procurement and install.”

Diseko said they have also partnered with a team of architects where they start a project afresh and have also partnered with another team where we do the mechanical. “Our design style is inspired by nature. I have taken my passion for nature to build surfaces that calm a person down. We are more about turning our natural material into flooring, ceiling and house decors,” she revealed. Since inception, the designer said business has been a learning curve as she has been exposed to different kinds of clients.

“The business has been a learning curve. I have been exposed to different kinds of clients; some are untrustworthy while others can be trusted. This has helped me to become a better person in business,” she added. 808 Renic Interiors’ clientele range from Air BnB, mining industry, hotels, residential, offices, government, restaurants and individuals. “Most of our clientele are usually referrals from clients; we always go beyond when it comes to delivering our clients’ work. My competitors have shaped me to become a better person, to perfect my craft and be one of the top interiors in the country,” Diseko explained. Currently, they source raw materials outside the country and have plans to expand her business and have a warehouse where they store materials.

Sadly, we live in a society that seems to be losing its moral fibre by the day. When parents take their children to a boarding school they do so to give them a brighter future, not to have some dirty paedophilic predator to prey on them. Sex orientation is a touchy subject and for young minds to be sexualised at a young age by a grown man perpetrating harm on them by cutting through their sphincter muscle to penetrate their anal canal. Anyone can...
