The Francistown Business Expo (FBE) will return next month, with organisers calling the event a powerful vision for Botswana’s economic future.

This year’s showpiece is being held under the theme “Botswana 4.0: Building the Future through Industrialisation, Manufacturing & Innovation” which is inspired by desire to create a platform for businesses to network, collaborate and showcase innovations. The Organisers of the event explained the theme underscores the Expo’s commitment to embracing global trends in digital transformation and technological advancement. Speaking to BusinessMonitor, FBE founder and host, Lawrence Ntsimanyana, said since inception, the exhibition has expanded significantly, attracting larger audiences and more impactful business connections.

“Attendees can look forward to cutting-edge exhibitions and masterclasses led by industry experts, covering topics from digital transformation to practical business skills. “The event features a distinguished line-up of keynote speakers and panellists, including prominent industry leaders and innovation experts,” he said. Ntsimanyana highlighted that the Expo will showcase a diverse array of businesses and industries, including manufacturing, technology, healthcare, agriculture, finance and retail. Exhibitors will range from start-ups and SMEs to large corporations and government entities, “ensuring a rich tapestry of perspectives and opportunities for collaboration and growth”.

A notable success story from past Expos is Jay Jay Beauty Salon, which exhibited in 2022 and has since become the largest beauty salon in Francistown. This year, the Expo aims to enhance the visibility and competitiveness of participating businesses, facilitate meaningful connections, and promote innovative solutions to drive Botswana’s economic growth. “Community engagement is crucial to the Expo’s success, involving local businesses, entrepreneurs, and residents to create a supportive environment,” Ntsimanyana said. “Participants can look forward to numerous networking opportunities, including business matchmaking sessions, networking luncheons, and an Exhibitors Night-Out for informal networking,” he added. The Expo supports local businesses by providing a platform to showcase their products and services, gain exposure, and connect with potential clients and partners.

Looking ahead, the long-term goals for the Expo include becoming a premier business event in Botswana and the region as well as attracting more international exhibitors and attendees each year. Future initiatives include enhanced digital engagement, expanded international partnerships, and a greater focus on sustainability and green innovation. Ntsimanyana said the FBE stands as a beacon of opportunity and innovation, driving Botswana towards a future of industrialisation and economic prosperity.
