Kgalagadi Breweries Limited (KBL) is poised to increase prices on some of its alcoholic beverages effective February this year.

The alcohol producer said the new prices are to cater for the impact of the economic environment on production cost.

The move will see price change for KBL brands including Budweiser, Corona and Stella Artois as well as non-returnable units for the brewer. KBL says the move is part of the phased approached to be executed within the year.

“The current prices are subject to availability of the limited stocks. We wish to highlight that the company reviews pricing strategy periodically to account for different factors that impact our cost production within the current economic environment,” the company said.

KBL has frequently been raising its alcohol prices with the latest being April 2021. By then it said was catering for inflation and other cost increases such as the Value Added Tax increase.
